本文以优化沥青路面结构应采用“强基薄面”的设计思想为指导，针对苏州古城区旧路面现状提出了相应的改造对策和建议，并强调指出：在路面基层强度和稳定性均较差的旧路面上采用补强加固措施是不可取的。

Guided by the design philosophy that the optimized bitumen pavement shall be of 'a strong base and a thin facing', measures and proposals are raised relevant to the old pavements in the old city area of Suzhou. It is strongly pointed out in the article that strengthening the old pavement is inappropriate when its base is of poor strength and stability.
