This article begins with the basic of sustainable development.Then it analyses the importance of taking the strategy of sustainable development in Shanghai.It mainly talks about the four methods which Shanghai should take in the course of sustainable development.The four methods are:exploiting and using the resources in the middle and west part of China,developing science and technology to convert the way of growing in economy,bettering the construction of industry and energetically developing the tertiary industry in Shanghai,and improving the quality of people.
