The Steps of Rule by Law:A Review of Sixty Years of Deveolpment of the Legal System in New China

在新中国华诞60年之际,回顾法制发展历程,总结法制发展规律性,探讨新中国法制发展的特性,至为必要。新中国法制60年,实际上就是中国法律近现代化过程的继续,是马克思主义中国化的过程,是不断探索中国特色的法制道路的展开,尽管取得了很大的成就,但是在广阔的历史年代中,实际上依然是一个法治的奠基,但是有了这个奠基,未来法治的道路却因此平坦得多。

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the birth of New China, it is exceptionally necessary to review the process of development of our legal system, to summarize its development regularity, and to explore the distinguishing features of its development. The sixty years of the development of the legal system in New China is in fact a continuation of the process of modernization of the Chinese law, a process of combining Marxism with Chinese practice, and a stage of constant explorations of the corect orientation of the legal system with Chinese characteristics. Although great achievements have been scored, yet over the past 60 years only a foundation has been laid for rule by law. With this foundation, the road of nile by law in the future will be much smoother.
