The Advancing Marxist View on Religion——Sixty Years' Evolution and Development of the Marxist View on Religion since the Founding of the People's Republic of China

中国是一个多宗教的国家,现有各种宗教信徒一亿多人,宗教关系是我国五大社会政治关系之一。中华人民共和国成立后,中国共产党和中国政府重视宗教工作,制定和实施了宗教信仰自由政策,把马克思主义宗教观与中国国情和各个时期的历史任务、特点相结合,科学地创造性地实事求是地发展了马克思主义宗教观。20世纪90年代以来,中国共产党和中国政府又提出了"积极引导宗教与社会主义社会相适应"和"发挥宗教在促进社会和谐方面的积极作用"等命题,适应了构建和谐社会的新的治国理念,反映了马克思主义宗教观与时俱进的精神,对我国宗教工作的实践有着重要的指导意义。

China is a multi-religious country with more than 100 million religious believers,so religious relationship is one of China's five major socio-political relations. After the founding of the People's Republic of China,the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese government attached importance to religious work,made a policy of religious freedom and put it into practice,and scientifically,creatively,and pragmatically developed the Marxist view on religion by the combination of the Marxist view on religion with Chinese national conditions and historical task of each period. Since the nineties of the twentieth century,the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese government proposed the concepts of ' actively guide religions to adapt to the socialist society' and the'play the religions' active role in promoting social harmony '. These concepts adapt to the new governance philosophy of building a harmonious society,reflecting the spirit of advancing with the times of the Marxist view on religion reflects,and having an important guiding significance in the practice of China's religious work.
