The paper introduces a short-wave Modem system taking the direct sequence spread spectrum chip Z87200 and MCU of AVR series as the core system. It describes in detail the design features of the structure of short-wave Modem hardware and software, and presents a specific hardware circuitry and key configuration parameters of the combination of Z87200 and ATmega128.
