星形细胞瘤血管内皮生长因子表达

Expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in human astrocytomas

摘要 探讨血管内皮生长因子(VEGF)在星形细胞瘤中表达与星形细胞瘤组织学分级和患者年龄的关系。方法应用免疫组化方法检测52例星形细胞瘤石蜡包埋病理切片。结果VEGF在不同病理级别星形细胞瘤中表达程度不同,随组织级别增加,表达增强。VEGF高表达组患者平均年龄高于低表达组。结论VEGF与星形细胞瘤生长及恶性进展关系密切,VEGF高表达与高龄有关,预示预后不良。 Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of VEGF in human astrocytomas and their histological grades,and the patients' age.Methods The immunohistochemical expression of VEGF was examined with anti-VEGF polyclonal antibody in paraffin-embedded tissues of 52 patients with astrocytomas.Results VEGF protein expression to different extent was detected in astrocytomas of all grades with significant difference.The expression of VEGF in anaplastic astrocytomas was higher than that in astrocytomas.There was the highest VEGF protein expression in glioblastoma multiforme.The average age of patients in high VEGF expression group was older than that in low VEGF expression group.Conclusion VEGF may play an important role in the tumorigenesis and malignant transformation of astrocytoms.The high espression of VEGF may be related to the poor prognosis of astrocytoma.
