2009年5月20日，上海振华港机集团股份有限公司发布公告，公司更名为上海振华重工（集团）股份有限公司（简称“振华”）。对此，公司总裁管彤贤作出了如下解释：“我们现在的主营业务已经由港口机械逐步走向新的领域——海洋重工（海工）。”

Looking at the current global container crane market capacity,it is only 30-40 billion dollars a year.With the decline,it will be maintained as low as 20-30 billion U.S.dollars a year.ZPMC has taken nearly 80% shares in the global container cranes market.The trend of regional trade protection is popular.That means in the future ZPMC has almost no increasing market space.Compared with the container cranes market,marine engineering market has an investment of 3000-4000 million dollars a year investment,which is the former's 100-fold.In addition to the scale of such equipment,industry average gross margin is up to about 40% far higher than about 10% of container cranes.A strong sea engineering team has become one important part of Chinese energy security strategy and the future development.It is one of the national strategic turning points.Previously,China's sea industrial enterprises have a very small global market share,accounting for only about 5%.Technically speaking,there is a certain gap between Japan and South Korea Heavy Industries Company.In order to change the situation,ZPMC relying on good 'natural conditions' becomes responsible for the new national mission.
