As a cognitive phenomenon and semantic motivation, the metaphor plays an active role in the occurrence of Shanzhai in terms of its semantic extension and semantic generalization. This paper analyses the process of the semantic generalization of Shanzhai, and discusses its word-formation, lexical meaning, and emotional overtones from the perspective of cognitive metaphor.
