分级教学强调教学必须适应个性需求,以满足不同层次学生提高英语水平的要求。大学英语分级教学中的教学目的、教学要求、课程设置、教学方法,以及教学测评方式的确定,必须基于对学生的需求分析,这就要求着重分析学生个体的差异,即学生的语言能力、认知风格、动机、态度等,以充分体现和切实满足学生的学习需求,从而最终完善大学英语分级教学。

Grading of the college English teaching should meet the levels of proficiency of the students in relation to the objectives,curricula,methodology,and evaluation of the teaching.The purpose is to satisfy the needs of different students according to their levels of proficiency,cognitive style,motivations and attitudes.
