Semantic Leaps in Humor Interpretation from the Frame-Shifting Perspective

框架转换理论可以成功解读幽默言语理解和认知过程中的语义跃迁。使用定性的分析方法,通过对一定数量的英汉语幽默语料的分析,发现框架转换出现在词、句、段乃至篇章等各个层面的幽默言语中。结合乖讹论和关联理论,将幽默理解的信息加工过程划分为三个阶段:建立初始框架、启动框架转换和合成颠覆性新框架、最终完成释话过程的语义跃迁和幽默解读。

Frame-shifting theory illustrates the semantic leaps in humor interpretation and cognition.Based on the qualitative analysis of some English humors and Chinese humors,the research proves that frame-shifting occurs at various levels of language.Besides,by applying the incongruity theory and the relevance theory,the paper holds that humor interpretation includes three stages： to set up the initial frame,to start the frame-shifting and to synthesize a new subversive frame.
