This paper illustrates the definition of SEO and proposes to optimize the university library web sites with the idea and technology of SEO. The contribution of the paper includes answering to the new challenges faced by university libraries in the Intemet age. With examples of optimizatiun, six perspectives are explored, which are optimizing URL, infrastructure ofwebsites and webpages, optimizing codes, and strategizing keywords and links.
