《周易》“元亨利贞”的人文精神

Humanistic Spirit Embodied in "Yuan Heng Li Zhen" of Zhou Yi

"元亨利贞"是《周易》的一个著名命题,自古以来人们对它有过多种不同的阐释,至今没有一种定论,这表明它本身具有丰富义涵,故能给后人以无穷启示。我们从现代人类文明的深厚背景出发,可以对"元亨利贞"形成新的理解与感受,此亦正是《大学》所说的"日新"之义。现在我们只有依照中国古典文献学强调的训诂方法,充分参考古代学者的训释,借鉴现代文明的思想观念,才能对"元亨利贞"的丰富含义作出全新的挖掘。

'Yuan Heng Li Zhen' is a famous proposition of Zhou Yi and from of old various explanations have been given about it and so far there has been no final conclusion about it.This indicates that it itself is comprehensive and can give future generations endless revelations.Starting from the background of modern human civilization,we may have new comprehension and understanding about it,which is just in agreement with the idea of 'daily renovation' of The Great Learning.Now only when we can use the methods of explaining the words in ancient books emphasized by Chinese classical philology,fully consult the explanations by ancient scholars and use conception of modern civilization for reference,can we dig out new things about the rich connotations of 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen'.
