Shen Mingchen was a representative of Siming scholars in the Late Ming keen on travelling. The Siming Mountains Travel Notes, written in 1574, is a masterpiece of his proses. This works, the first real travel note of the Siming Mountains, with landscape aesthetics and travel experience as the subject, focuses its aesthetic attention on the grandeur of the scenery.
