Standard quoting is the inseparable part in standardization. We can avoid repeating the established content, reduce the length of the standard document and avoid the error when repeating the established standard. But if the standard is quoted improperly, it will result in trouble and difficulty in implementation of the standards. This article gives several concrete suggestions about the proper quotation of standards and argues the existing problems in standard revision and implementation.
