湖北省水利水电勘测设计院合理规划了湖北中小水电布局,为政府和有关部门进行宏观决策提供了可靠依据;大坳、漳河、富水等大中型水库土坝的成功建设,起到了样板的作用,为湖北省乃至全国带了一个好头;西北口等多座水库、电站设计涵盖了所有现代最新坝工技术,为湖北省乃至全国填补了多项设计空白;编制国家标准《小型水力发电站设计规范》等促进了全国小水电的蓬勃发展。

The general development planning about mid-small hydropower resources in Hubei Province offered trust-worthy bases to the official organizations for references of macro decision-making. The successful experiences in construction of earth-filled dams of Da＇ao, Zhanghe and Fushui Reservoir etc. set up the examples for the later constructed hydro- projects in Hubei and even in the whole country, The advanced dam construction techniques used in Xibeikou Hydroproject etc. filled the vacancies in technical design work. The workout of the 《Design Standard for Small Hydropower Stations》 promoted the small-hydro vigorous development in the whole country.
