On the Concept of Solar Eclipse in Zuo Zhuan

《左传》是一部对中国历史影响巨大的先秦古籍。本文通过对《左传》中的日食记录的研究,分析了其对于社会、礼制、政治等方面的影响,探讨了《左传》及其日食记录在科学史上的地位,提出《左传》是中国古代日食占测政治化的重要推手,是日食占测模型化的始作俑者。

Zuo Zhuan is a famous Chinese book appeared before Qin Dynasty which greatly influenced the ancient Chinese society.Through the study of the records of solar eclipse in Zuo Zhuan,the paper analyses its influence upon the society,rite system,and politics,etc.The paper discusses the status in the history of science of both Zuo Zhuan and its solar eclipse records.It raises a view that Zuo Zhuan is an important factor that makes solar eclipse divination to possess strong political meanings and is an initiator to explain the social meaning of solar eclipse in modeling method.
