Some image characteristics of English modem female novelist Daphne Du Maurer＇s Rebecca are analyzed. In Rebecca, Du Maurier used a great deal of Gothic images to create the dark, horrible, mysterious atmosphere of Manderly and to show the anxiety, fear, depression and desperation of the characters. It is pointed out that the Gothic images in Rebecca represent the everlasting charm of the novel.
