On Yin Wenzi and his Legal Philosophy Pattern of Taoism, Metaphysics, the School of Logicians and the School of Legalists

法家基本上可分为儒法家、名法家、道法家,尹文子应属于名法家之列。其基本的法哲学思想是:以道为本,为形上根据,以名学为工具,最终回归到法的治术,即以法治为目的,从而完成其整个法哲学体系的架构,为君主设计了一个专制下的自然主义政治治术。

Yin Wenzi was one of the Logicians, which together with the Confucianists and Taoists constituted the Legalists. In his basic legal philosophical thoughts, Taoism was taken as the basis, metaphysics as the foundation, logic as the tool and legal ruling as the final goal. With this pattern of legal philosophy, he constructed a natural political ruling system within absolute monarchy for the emperors.
