近二十年国内外大、小传统学说研究述论

A Commentary on the Studies of Great tradition and Little tradition in Recent 20 years

20世纪上半叶雷德菲尔德提出大、小传统概念后,自80年代后期起,学界针对这一对概念进行了众多的理论探讨,并且取得了丰硕的成果,但同时也存在着诸多不尽如人意之处,如过分强调小传统,而对历代大传统的内涵及其变化研究不足;对大、小传统理论的理解的僵化与异化;理论研究及运用领域狭窄;重静态而不重动态,重宏观而不重微观,重物而不重人等。

Robert Redfield put forward the conception of Great tradition and Little tradition at the first half of the 20th century. Since late 1980s,many theoretical studies have been made on this concept and fi-uitful results have been achieved. But there are many drawbacks in these studies, such as too much emphasis on little tradition and less on the connotations and changes of great tradition, the rigescent and dissimilative understading of the conception, the narrow field of theoretical research and application, heavy emphasis on static rather than dynamic, on macro rather than micro, on things rather than human etc. Based on these drawbacks, this paper proposes the academic should deepen the theoretical clarification and analysis in six aspects.
