On the Twenty Verses of "Questions for Ji Chang,Marquis of Xibo" in God's Inquiry by Quyuan

屈原《天问》中有20句连续"述问西伯姬昌"的诗句,古今注家对其中的一些诗句及关键字词之义多有歧解,均未能将此20句诗意连贯为一体。对此20句作出新注译必须建立在总结前人注解和古史考证的基础上。这20句可总括为"西伯姬昌强国兴邦,子孙后代昌盛久长"。

In God s Inquiry by Qu Yuan,there are 20 successive verses of ＂Questions for Ji Chang,Marquis of Xibo＂,some of which have been noted differently in meaning by different scholars who failed to offer coherent ideas of them.Any new notes for the twenty verses must be based on the conclusion of the old notes and the textual research on the old history.The writer of this paper says as a conclusion,＂Ji Chang,Marquis of Xibo,made the county strong;And helped make his posterity become powerful for long.＂
