6306 panel at Nantun coal mine, Yanzhou Coal Bureau in fact is a big size pillar formed by mining sequence with 3 sides by gob. 2 sides of them were threatened by gob fire. After technical analyses and comparision among plans, adopting a series of safe technical measures during mining Nantun coal mine worked out 6306 panel safely. The highest output of the face per day is 4190 t and average output per month is 78122 t. There is no severe roof-fall accident during mining. Section Sizes of both head entry and tail entry satisfy requiment of production. Gob fire was controlled. There was no gob fire again and no phenomenon of CO content over limit. The paper presents mining plan,ventilation, fire prevention measures, strata control observation and results of observation as well as obtained technical and economical benefits.
