The paper datails principles of technology of continuous steady quantitative release probe gas and analyses how to use the technology to detect underground leakage with aids of some examples of practice, and introduces continuous steady quantitative release probe gas unit. Results from practice are as follows. 1. The method for detecting volume of air leakage end distrubution of air leakage is more easy and reliable than others. 2. Range of detecting underground leakage by the method is wider than other methods. The method is able to detect a great quantity of air leakage, small quantity of air leakage, air leakage underground and surface. 3. Key points are SF■ probe gas release unit and accuracy probe gas analyzer.
