Angelica dahurica was popularly used as skin whitening herb in Chinese Traditional for thousands of years, but was forbidden to be used in cosmetics in Hygienic Standard for Cosmetics because of its photo-toxicity. This article reviewed modern studies about Angelica dahurica, and presented fresh thoughts about it.
