From English teaching, teachers have found that most college students are incapable of expressing their ideas creatively, which makes it difficult for them to carry on deep - level communications. Extracurricular activities in the form of giving speech and debating can help develop students＇ thoughts and debating ability as well as quick response capability. This paper focuses on the training methods and their effects on speech and debate.
