The authors studied the fossil plants collected from Yangliantun formation in Shenbei Coalfield of Liaoning,considered that they belong to the late stage of Early Tertiary (i e Oligocene),and discussed the relationship between the Shenbei flora and the Fushun flora. Fossil plants are listed as follows: Metasequoia disticha (Heer) Miki, Sequoia chinensis Endo emend Wang et Li, Taxodium tinajorum Heer, Magnolia sp , Cinnamomum naitoanum Huzioka et Takahasi, Schisandra fushunensis Li, Trochodendron sp , Cercidiphyllum arcticum (Heer)Brown, Hamamelites inaequalis (Newberry)Brown, Celtis peracuminata Brown, Dryophyllum fushunense Chen et Wang, Quercus sp , Betula dissecta Tao, B fushunensis Chen, Carpinus sp , Populus sp , Salix sp , Firmiana sp etc .The discovery of this flora is important for furth study on distribution and evolution of fossil Hamamelididae.
