二叠一三叠系界限一直有争议。文章用事件地层学的观点,从不整合面的存在,不整合上覆下伏地层的古生物组合 、沉积建造组合、沉积构造环境差异诸方面,论述了平顶山砂岩底界作为划分界限的合理性.

There are four main opinions about the boundary ofthe permian-triassic system.The authors adoptthe views of the punctuated equilbrium and eve-nt stratigraphy,on the basis of the discovery ofthe plane of unconfirmity,through the correl-ation of assemblage and evolution of palaeon-tological fossils,of structural environment ofsedimentary basins and of the evolution of thesedimentary formations in the overlying strataand underlying ones of the plane of unconfirmityand then suggest that the plane of uncofirmity,is the boundary of the event,and also of thepermian、triassic system.
