以系统功能语法为理论框架,分析乔伊斯的短篇小说《伊芙琳》第13段的语境、及物性结构、语气系统、主位结构和衔接手段。作家对及物性结构、语气系统和衔接手段的的恰当选择和成功运用,深刻表现了主人公伊芙琳在爱情、生活等各方面的被动麻木,最大限度地表现了小说的"瘫痪"主题。

Based on the theory of functional-systemic grammar,this paper studies the stylistic features of the 13th paragraph of Eveline written by James Joyce from the perspectives of its context,transitivity,mood and thematic structure and cohesion which have been proved to be effective in appealing the passiveness of Eveline in everyday life and the theme of ＂paralysis＂ of the whole society.
