在众多的作家中,刘绍棠同志是用心致力于"乡土文学"创作的一员,并取得富有特色的成果。自从三中全会解除他身上的精神枷锁以来,这位当年的"神童作家"用大运河赋予的魔笛,吹奏出一曲曲"田园牧歌",准确地说,应该是"运河牧歌"。格调清新自然,洗练流畅,而又略带几分古朴。

Among the group of writers, Liu Shao-tang is one of those who have been devoted to the ＂Local Literature＂ and made a remarkable achievement. Since his spiritual shackle was thrown off by The Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPCC Central Commit- tee, he has composed pastorals one after another, to be specific, the ＂Pastorals of the Canal＂, with the flute offered by the Canal. His writing style appears to be natural, fluent, simple and unsophisticated.
