摘要
认知隐喻理论宣称语言中无数的隐喻表达可以追溯至有限数目的概念隐喻,这就意味着概念隐喻有可能在我们的语言学习中发挥积极的作用。本文以认知隐喻理论为基础,旨在探讨隐喻对中国大学生英文阅读理解的影响。本文用量的研究方法对广州某高校英语专业三年级54位学生隐喻知识培训前后所得阅读成绩进行分析,结果表明隐喻知识有助于他们的英语阅读理解。
The cognitive theory of metaphor argues that innumerable metaphorical expressions in language can be traced back to limited types of conceptual metaphors, which may play an active role in language learning. By taking the cognitive approach to metaphor, the paper investigates the impact of metaphor on college students' reading comprehension of English. The paper analyzes the achievements of reading test paper gained by 54 junior students majoring in English from one university of Guangzhou before and after metaphor training by quantitative study. The result shows that knowledge of political metaphors facilitates Chinese college students' reading com- prehension of English.
