A Discussion about News Editing and Translation in China External Communication

现代功能翻译理论认为译者应优先考虑译文的交际功能,顺从译文读者的欣赏习惯和心理感受,尽量使用他们所熟悉的语言表达形式,去获取译文预期的效果。作为跨文化传播的一种重要方式,外宣新闻编译既要体现新闻的及时性和真实性,又要创造出符合目标受众写作惯例的语篇,实现语义的真实性、语篇的实用性、文化的适应性和传播的有效性。因此,外宣新闻"编译"是语篇的再创造,是文化语境的重构,是显性的"二次传播"和隐性的"双向交流"。

＂Functional Translation＂ argues that the priority should be given to the communicative function of the text;translating texts should be in accord with the reading habits and psychological reception of target readers;the expressive forms of the target language should be used in translation in order to achieve expected effects. As a means of cross-cultural communication,news editing and translating in China external communication should focus on the timeliness and truthfulness and create a news text on the routine basis. Authenticity,practicability,adaptability and effectiveness should be taken into consideration. Thus,news editing and translating in China external communication is a re-creation of discourse,a reconstruction of cultural context,an overt ＂second-time transmission＂ and a covert ＂mutual communication＂.
