民主社会主义理论体系庞大,来源众多,但一条主线却始终贯穿始终,即以伦理为本位兼容并包,把伦理原则视为判断政治现实的准则、衡量社会价值的尺度、进行实践活动的指南。这一点不仅体现在以自由、公正、互助等为内涵的基本价值观中,也从其资本主义观、社会主义观、历史观、国家观等方面表现出来。因此,要深入了解民主社会主义,就不能不考察其伦理世界观;要搞清民主社会主义与科学社会主义的本质区别,就更离不开对其伦理原则的梳理和评判。

The major theme, being ethic-oriented and all-inclusive, regards the ethical principle as a rule of judging political reality and social values and a guide to practice. This major theme is reflected in its basic values, such as liberty, justice, mutual help etc. and also presents in its views on socialism, capitalism, history and state etc. Therefore, it is necessary to study its ethical world views in order to understand democratic socialism and to sort out and criticize its ethical principle in order to understand the essential difference between democratic socialism and scientific socialism
