Locative Expression and Categorization of "Li" and "Nei"

方位词"里、内"均可以构成三维空间表达,然而在语言世界中,"内"有时还可以构成二维空间表达。正是这种三维空间二维认知的机制导致"里、内"出现了不同的虚化过程,最终分化出不同的功能类别。

Location words ＂li/nei＂ can both be used to construct the expressions of three-dimensional space. However,＂nei＂ sometimes can also construct the expressions of two-dimensional space in the language world. And this cognitive mechanism which uses two-dimensional cognition to express three-dimensional space just leads to the different courses of grammaticalizafion and the divergence of different functional types.
