摘要
汉英公示语代表一个城市的国际形象,因此准确规范的翻译是其基本要求。本文旨在研究探讨汉英公示语存在的问题,笔者将搜集的实例分为:语言拼写错误、中式英语翻译、混用英语词汇和语言杂乱不一等四类,并利用Newmark的交际翻译理论及文体学理论,提出相应的规范翻译。文章最后提出了几点建议。
The Chinese-English public sign is an international name card for a city, so it requires the accurate and standardized translation. This paper aims to study Chinese-English translation problems of public signs. All the available examples are sorted into four kinds and analyzed on the basis of Newmark＇s communicative translation and stylistics. Finally some suggestions are proposed on how to change the current situations of Chinese-English public sign translations.
