Thoughts on College English Teaching Reform in the New Circumstances

大学英语教学改革是高等学校教学质量与教学改革工程的重要内容。经过多年来的努力,我国的大学英语在教学水平、教材建设、课程设置、教学方法、教学环境、教师队伍建设等各个方面都有了长足的进步与发展,但仍然存有问题与不足,需要从转变教学观念着手,加强大学英语教师队伍建设,加大对大学英语教学模式、教学方法等方面的改革力度,以期不断提高大学英语教学质量。

College English teaching reform is one of the essential parts of the project for teaching quality and teaching reform in universities. With years of efforts, great progress has been made in teaching efficiency, textbook compiling, curriculum design, teaching methods, teaching environment, and the building of teaching staff. However, there are still some problems needs to be solved to improve the teaching quality of College English on a large scale. The author of this article offers such constructive suggestions as updating the teaching concepts, strengthening the building of the teaching staff, employing new teaching modes and methods.
