Cantonese Merchants have brought up a remarkable history and glory for the contemporary era,creating wealth and making contributions for the country and the nation. From the foreign trade started in Qin and Han Dynasty, to the Thirteen-Hong of Canton, to setting examples for Chinese socialist market economy in the reformand-opening up period. Cantonese Merchants have acted as a forerunner in the reform and opening-up ,and the mainstay in the foreign trade. They are the early practitioner of China＇s modern enterprise system. Therefore, the study on Cantonese Merchants has an important and practical significance for the transformation and sustainable development of Chinese enterprises.
