Concepts and Principles of Constructing Modern University System in Ethnic Universities

新时期,民族院校要实现自己的使命和价值,必须完成和实现自身的第二次跨越,即"现代化"——向现代新型民族大学的转变。要树立办现代化大学的理念,强化竞争意识;要树立办新型民族大学的理念,强化特色意识;要树立以人为本、助人成功的人才培养理念,强化质量意识;要树立人才培养模式改革是"最核心的改革"的理念,强化创新意识;要树立办学的国际化理念,强化开放意识。要坚持方向性、科学化、法治化、人性化、民主化、系统化和创新性的大学制度建设原则。

in the new era, in order to realize their own mission and value, ethnic universities must accomplish their second leap-frog development, that is, modernization or transformation into modernized ethnic universities. The concept of running modernized university should be adhered to strengthen sense of competition ; the concept of running new ethnic university should be insisted to enhance sense of characteristics ; the concept of training talents through putting students first and assisting students to be successful should be upheld to enhance sense of quality; the concept of reforming talents training model which is the core reform should be established to strengthen sense of innovation; and the concept of running internationalized university should be set up to deepen sense of opening-up. In constructing university system, the principles of following correct direction, abiding by the laws, and being scientific, humanistic, democratic, systematic and innovative should be adhered to.
