Translation process involves comprehension stage and expression stage. To some degree, comprehension works as the basis of expression and should be attached greater importance, since miscomprehension must lead to mistranslation. After analyzing some examples of mistranslation, the paper underlines the importance of comprehension stage in translation, and more importantly, it points out that precise understanding can only be achieved by thorough language analysis and logic analysis.
