摘要
一词多义是语言经济化的产物,词汇的多个义项并非散乱的聚集,而是存在内在联系,并基于人体对自然界及自身的认知。研究显示,open一词的词义由作为动作的实体义,向空间概念,时间概念延伸,并进一步投射到情感域,隐喻和转喻为其词义派生的主要途径。该词还体现句法功能多义,运用原型范畴理论可解释其句法概念中的中心成员向边缘成员拓展的路径和理据。
Polysemy reflects people＇s intention of making our language economical. The lexical items, instead of gathering randomly, develop with a certain meaning extension mechanism and men＇ s cognitive perception of the world and human body. A semantic analysis of the verb open demonstrates how the meaning extends from its literal meaning to domains of space, time and emotion. During this process, metaphor and metonymy plays a crucial role. Prototype theory can he applied to illustrate polysemy in its syntactic structure.
