摘要
当代著名华裔美国作家伍慧明的处女作《骨》,呈现了一个时空倒错、囿闭而又必须认可为"家"的荒诞的唐人街。本文集中讨论在时空错位和荒诞的政治态势中,唐人街对不同代华裔主体建构的意义,目的在于发现空间的意义是如何从时间的二元化衍生而来,即通过分析时空的意义,揭示小说人物在限(陷)入错位时空、在场与缺席等等两极之间之后,如何在唐人街这个"压力源"之中建构自己的主体性。
Fae Myenne Ng in her first novel Bone presents an absurd Chinatown that must be treated as "home," as resulted from the play of the spatial dislocation and temporal anachronism. This article discusses the meaning of Chinese American subjectivity construction within the context of such a dislocation and anachronism, in the hope to find how the meaning of space is generated through the binarization of time, and how Chinese Americans deeply stuck in such a source of pressure and in the binary pair of presence and absence construct their subjectivity.
