A Review of Wittgenstein’s Ladder:Poetic Language and the Strangeness of the Ordinary by Marjorie Perloff

玛乔瑞·帕洛夫的《维特根斯坦之梯:诗歌语言和日常语言的新奇》一书以维特根斯坦有关日常语言使用的论述为纲,解读现当代多位作家或艺术家的作品,阐释其艺术特征和艺术观,试图揭示以日常语言使用为核心的西方当代诗学特征。本文首先对该书上述主要内容进行了梳理,之后对该书的重要特色和意义做了简要评述。

Based upon Wittgenstein＇ s view on the use of ordinary language, the book Wittgenstein＇ s Ladder ： Poetic Language and the Strangeness of the Ordinary by Marjorie Perloff interprets the works of quite a few writers and artists and explores their artistic features and respective views of art to uncover a contemporary poetics whose core is the use of ordinary language. This review first gives an account of the above major points of the book and then comments on its important features and significance.
