Pictorial Bricks of the Han Period Collected in the Xuchang Museum

许昌市北郊出土的长方形实心画像砖颇具特色。画像多为横列式,题材以双阙、楼阁等各种建筑物为主,具有鲜明的地域特点和艺术风格,为研究我国古代建筑史提供珍贵的实物资料。

A rectangular solid center brick relief unearthed from the northern suburd of Xuchang is rather typical. Most of the figures are in rank, and double side - towers and pavilions dominate the themes. It possesses a vivid local characteristic and art style, and provides valuable materials for investigating ancient Chinese architectural history.
