The letter of credit （L/C）is a popular form of payment and settlement in international trade. The accurate,standard and precise translation of L/C language directly impacts the practices of international trade. This paper summarizes the characteristics of L/C language with cases,analyzes the problems existing in the translation of L/C language,and emphasizes the function of L/C language translation in avoiding international trade risks.
