Lumbar intervertebral disk herniation is acommonly and frequently encountered disease inthe orthopedic department, manifested by a series ofsymptoms such as low back pain, numbness andpain in one or two lower limbs, due to compressionto the lumbosacral nerves by protrusion of thepulpiform nucleus after rupture of the fibrous rings.The author has treated 52 cases of this disease byacupuncture plus herbal medicine.
