The Theoretical Problem of Liang Shuming's Rural Construction Movement

乡村建设运动是梁漱溟基于对中国社会现状的分析而提出的为解决中国民族前途问题的一个具体实践,其目的是建设一个充满"伦理情谊、人生向上"精神的新礼俗社会。梁漱乡村建设运动的失败固然有其复杂的客观原因,但其本身的理论困境也是不可忽视的一个方面。从理论上分析梁漱溟乡村建设运动失败的原因,并进而指出梁漱溟的乡村建设运动在当今社会仍然有其独特的意义,可以引发人们对梁漱溟乡村建设运动的进一步思考。

In order to save the future of China, Liang Shuming started a movement of rural construction based on his analysis of the situations of traditional Chinese society. And his aim is to make a new society with ＂ethical love and a rising life＂. The movement failed at last. Besides the objective reason, there is a theoretical problem within it. This article makes a theoretical analysis on the reason of the failure of the movement, and points out that this movement still has a special value at present and hopefully could bring further considerations about it.
