摘要
虚义动词发挥的根本性作用不外乎两点:一是济造句之穷;二是提供一种更适合语用需要的表达方式。英汉虚义动词各具特点,在使用范围、表意特点,以及内外部结合规律等方面体现出诸多差异。虚义动词为我们提供一个由汉语看世界语言、由世界语言看汉语的理想之窗。
Delexical verbs satisfy syntactic demands and create better expressions for pragmatic purposes. Dissimilarities between English and Chinese delexical verbs lie in the scope of their utilization, semantic characteristics, as well as the regularities of internal and external combination. A contrastive study of delexical verbs reveals both commonalities and differences between the Chinese language and the major languages of the world.
