从亲属称谓语的汉英翻译看中国传统文化

Some Reflections of Chinese Culture:from Perspective of Kinship Terms in C-E Translation

通过对汉英两种语言中亲属称谓语的对比分析,探讨亲属称谓语汉英翻译中体现出的中国传统文化。英语亲属称谓语系统远不如汉语的称谓语系统繁杂,因此,在称谓语的汉英翻译过程中,译者应根据具体的语境,采用泛化、具体化、释义法、省略法等变通手段尽可能实现称谓语文化信息的近似对等或动态对等传递。

Kinship terminology consists of systems for classifying relatives and demonstrates the power of culture in forming systems of thought and behavior. Unlike kinship terminology in English, which is much simpler, Chinese kinship terminology in a complicated system with the characteristic of a patriarchal clan society. Therefore, the translator should adopt various strategies in dealing with translation of kinship terms from Chinese to English in order to obtain an equivalent or dynamic equivalent translation of the original culture.
