Insoluble sulfur is the allotropism body of high polymerization shape of ordinary sulfur and also a high polymer modified variety.As an important vulcanization crosslinking agent,it has huge application potential in tire industry,and its production conforms to sustainable economic development idea,so it can enhance largely the added value and market competitiveness of ordinary sulfur products.Three industrialization production methods of insoluble sulfur by vaporization method,fusing method,and contact method were introduced. Development trend and main application fields of insoluble sulfur at home and abroad were summarized briefly. According to analysis on its current production and demand situation, it ex- plained that insoluble sulfur has a broad market prospect and confronts significant development opportunity, and put forward some proposals from now on to the development of insoluble sulfur in China.
