本文介绍了高聚物光纤（ＰＯＦ），特别是塑料光纤的基本理论，以及ＰＯＦ材料种类、合成与生产工艺，并提出将来的发展方向。
The article describes the general theory of polymeric optical fibers(POF),especially plastic optical fibers,and material varieties、technology of synthesis and manufacture of POF,Also discuss the future development directions.
