太虚法师对藏传密教的融铸

The Shaping of Tibetan Esotericism by Master Taixu

近代佛学思想家太虚运用契理契机的原则,站在整体佛教的高度,认为藏传密教只能是大乘佛教八宗之一,而不能独立于显教之上别为一教;藏传密教讲究修学的次第和大乘精神的实践,但是其自标高明的做法导致了迷信,"男女双运"的做法导致秽行流传,对社会风俗的净化没有成效。因此,应吸取藏传密教的长处,冶藏密为"中密",为振兴中国佛教和建设世界佛教的宏图服务。

Applying the reasonable principle and standing at the height of the whole of Buddhism,Taixu,the modern Buddhist thinker,considered that Tibetan Esotericism was not an independent religion of the Mainstream Buddhism,but one of the eight schools in Mahayana Buddhism.Tibetan Esotericism stressed further studies of the sequential and the Mahayana spiritual practice,but its self-standard clever approach led to superstition,and the ＂male and female pairs of Yun＂ approach caused the spreading of bad behaviors.The approaches didn＇t work on the purification of the social customs.Therefore,we should draw on the strengths of Tibetan Esotericism, smelt Tibetan Esotericism into Chinese Esotericism and serve the revitalization of Chinese Buddhism and construction of the world Buddhism. Today,it is very important to walk along the Taixu＇s road and shape Tibetan Esotericism with the characteristics of the times and advance with times.
