当今社会正处于一个转型时期竞争激烈的知识经济型时代，随着高科技的飞速发展，现代社会需要高素质的人才来适应社会的需求，因此，社会竞争是高素质人才的竞争。高校面临的艰巨任务是担负起培养具有创新精神、实践能力和科学态度等综合素质过硬的大学生，社会需要这类高素质的人才以适应高科技社会的发展。
